“I like telling stories and I think video is the best medium for creating powerful narratives.
At Into Productions, we specialise in capturing and articulating stories in ways that are personal, relatable and visually compelling.
Our productions are varied — documentaries, informational and fictional short films, adverts, promos, corporate videos, client testimonials and music videos — and the common thread running through them all is strong storytelling.
Storytelling grabs your audience’s attention and allows you to convey messages with clarity and impact. It transforms ideas into something relatable on an individual level.
We work with international, national and regional businesses from public, private and third sectors.
Whether it comes from a fleshed-out concept or skeletal brief, we take the client’s initial impetus and build on it imaginatively and coherently.”
Damian is a co-founder of Into Productions, providing powerful and vivid video-based stories for businesses, brands and organisations. His multiple professional roles cover director, director of production and editor.
Q&A
Q&A
Is it better to break the rules or follow them?
I think rules in life are important, but when it comes to certain industries, I think you need to break the rules for your work to stand out. If you have a signature style or work in a competitive industry and need to stand out in a pitch, you need to make sure you produce work that will inspire and engage. This means sometimes you need to break free from the standard — especially creatively.

What’s the most effective way of collaborating?
Collaboration is central to our work. We collaborate with our clients, with other agencies, and with other creatives to make sure the work we do is of the best standard. We also treat everyone’s input equally — all ideas are welcome. As a company, we don’t mind holding our hands up when we can’t do something in-house. This can be a positive as it opens opportunities to team up with another professional or team to make sure the job meets the client’s brief. Working with multiple creatives has helped us grow and push the boundaries of our work further.

Which part of your work do you find most rewarding?
I love working on initial ideas with the client. Sometimes their vision might sound too ambitious or out-there, but we like to be ambitious! It’s our job to bring their vision to life and make it accessible to all. Those early ideas always form the foundation of the final product. I also love shoot days, with the chance to get out, use all our kit and work with my team.

Which is more important, being creative or being practical?
I’m not a very practical person, so for me it’s being creative. I think a practical person would have given up and left our industry a long time ago. There are lots of extremely tough practical elements, especially when I started out, like networking and securing clients. It can take a few years to find your feet, but the creativity of the job is what keeps you going in those early days.

How well prepared do you feel for future changes in your industry?
Our industry is constantly evolving, and no more so than during the last ten to 15 years, with new technology, new ways to consume content and now AI. We’ve always tried to embrace these changes, whether it’s investing in new equipment or now looking at ways AI can improve production without taking away authenticity. We might start seeing more AI-generated films in the future, but people will always want the real thing.
